Train Your Puppy for the Crate
Getting a new puppy can be very exciting but you have to know that you are going to have to train that puppy if you want it to behave well. If you would like to get to train the new puppy that you have, there are things that you are going to have to know in order to train them well. There are a lot of people who are too strict with their puppies that they become really timid and very shy and that can be sad. You should always make your puppy feel safe and secure when they are with you. There are people who choose to keep their pets in crates and if you are one of them, you might have to train your puppy to stay in a crate. Let us find out how you can get to train your puppy to stay in a crate.
Always make sure that you get a crate that is comfortable and big enough for your puppy to stand and lie down inside. When you get that crate, you should make your puppy smell it so that they will get used to it and not be afraid. You should make sure that your puppy is not afraid of those crates and that they can walk in comfortably. Your puppy might not like to enter the crate and if they do not want to, you can bribe them with food. Never allow your puppy to do their potty in the crate because that is a sleeping area and not a poppy place. You should decide where to put the crate before you associate the puppy and crate so that you can be sure that there is no disturbance around.
If you would like to train your puppy to stay in the crate for some time, you should never rush this training. You can train them for the crate by putting them inside for short periods of times to star with. Leave your puppy in the crate longer and longer until you can leave them in there for a long time. If your puppy does not like it when you leave, you can walk few steps back and then return. Do this constantly until you can get to leave your puppy in the crate and be gone for quite some time. A common mistake that many puppy owners make is that they will leave their puppy in the crate on their first day and they can traumatize your puppy and make them really hate that crate.
